When Eddie and Debbie sought to create a resort-like backyard at their Knoxville home, their first attempt left them with an unfinished and chaotic space. Determined to achieve their dream, they turned to Magnolia Landscape Design. Over six months, we transformed their backyard into a stunning, functional retreat that seamlessly blends with the natural surroundings.
Eddie and Debbie wanted to create a backyard retreat that matched the breathtaking views of their Knoxville home. However, their first attempt a year earlier left them with an incomplete project and full of frustration. The main challenges for this project were the steep slope and the scale of the retaining wall, requiring meticulous planning and execution.
Following a carefully laid-out plan by Carex Design Group, our team installed a 20’ retaining wall and created multiple entertainment areas. With 2400 square feet of wall block, 1500 square feet of pavers, and over 50 dump truck loads of gravel, we constructed flowing curves, large steps, and a sunken fire pit. We used natural boulders from the site and new landscaping to provide the desired privacy. Eddie and Debbie’s dream backyard turned out better than they expected.
